Laptop screen settings vista
Not only did this screen saver provide truly spectacular graphics due to the powerful nature of the OpenGL technology, it also offered multiple configuration settings with which to customize the display. I had always hoped that Microsoft would add other OpenGL screen savers in subsequent versions of Windows, but they never did; the same OpenGL screen savers appeared in every version of Windows after that point.
If you wanted additional screen savers, you had to purchase the Plus! Zheng explains that the registry keys necessary to configure the screen savers in Vista exist, but are empty.
He then provides several registry hacks in the form of downloadable REG files that you can use to configure several of the new screen savers. While these registry hacks work perfectly, they offer a limited number of choices. Since I saw the potential for other interesting combinations and I'm partial to using a GUI to tweak screen saver settings, I figured that there must be a better way.
As I do, I'll describe the hidden settings that you can use to configure this new screen saver. I'll then show you how you can download and use my HTML application to tweak the Bubbles screen saver.
The Bubbles screensaver has four settings that you can use to manipulate the appearance of the Bubbles screen saver. Once you make your selections, click OK. You can then test the Bubbles screen saver settings by returning to the Screen Saver Settings dialog box, selecting Bubbles in the Screen saver drop-down, and then clicking the Preview button to see what screen saver looks like.
Then, simply double-click the Bubbles. This lets me do other things without having to resize windows to ridicules dimensions. I've only have this setup for a day and my computer handles it just fine although the second monitor does tend to flicker every once in a while due to age. Hope you've enjoyed and found this helpful and insightful!

This may sound like a stupid question, so please forgive me, but how do I check if my laptop has a graphics card with multiple outputs? The only stupid question is the one not asked! Checking for a video output on your laptop isn't at all difficult. You'll be able to tell very easily be checking to see if there's a port on it that matches up with the monitor cable.
Basically, if the plug on the end of the monitor cord fits into one of the ports, then that's most likely the one you're looking for, Additionally, because most newer computers have the ports color coded, the one you're looking for will probably be blue. The image i've included is rather blurry, but the blue thing is the video output port on my laptop, and it's a 15 pin adapter.
Hope that helps! Seriously though, those gauges take a lot of space! Just did this, and it works! By patricksanford Follow. More by the author:. Did you make this project?

If this is the case, you'll need to create a custom power plan, which can be done by accessing the Power Options utility in the Control Panel.
If the key combination method is not working and you've made the appropriate adjustments in Power Options, it is likely your computer has a video driver problem.
Driver issues usually occur after updating the video drivers. Monitor drivers can also cause this problem. To resolve any potential monitor related issues, reinstall the monitor by following the steps below. Finally, we also recommend downloading the latest video drivers directly from the video card manufacturer. If this problem was caused because you updated the drivers, install an earlier version of the video drivers to see if that resolves the issue.
If, after following the steps above your brightness is still not enough, plug your laptop into the wall. If the laptop is plugged in but still is not bright enough, try the suggestions on the page linked below. How do I adjust my brightness or contrast on my laptop? Tip Some of the options on this page work for adjusting brightness or contrast on a desktop computer as well.
