Nudges tool script 2011

Apart from a bunch of bug fixes, tidying up, and support for AS7, there is now has an overwrite mode which lets you delete keys without shifting. It also now uses new scripting features for checking whether layers are visible or selected instead of the hacks that it used previously, but that means that it now requires AS6. It has a lot of new options and bug fixes since the initial version.

These tools can be downloaded from here. As well as making them work with the new features of ver 6. In particular, the Menu script which creates a consolidated timeline for a set of layers used to take up to a minute to run, but is now pretty much instant. By the way, the tools should work for both versions 5.

You can download the full set of tools and scripts from here I admit that the the icons are pretty poor, so if anyone wants to volunteer to make better ones, please go right ahead.

So hopefully it's pretty self explanatory, but here's a brief description on how to use it. In any layer, press ',' and all of the keys at or to the right of the cursor will be nudged 1 place to the left. Press '. If the current layer has children then all layers below it will also be affected.

If there is a key to the immediate left of the cursor, then a left nudge won't be performed. In any layer, hold down shift when you press ',' or '.

The document's endframe will also be automatically adjusted. Whenever you nudge left or right in this layer its parent and the parent's children are automatically affected. This script can also be run at the top level as well and is useful for monitoring global nudges. The thing is that the curvature channel for each point is not currently available in the script interface, but I worked out a fairly robust way to fake it by assuming that each curvature key has a corresponding point position key.

The likelihood of such illogical unsafe choices and behaviours can be more likely when we involve groups and collaborative efforts; the acknowledgement that people often behave in public in a way that is vastly different from when they are in private.

Herd mentality often results in individuals making unsafe choices and decisions, even though they know they are wrong, merely because they do not wish to stray from the views of the group. In short, a successful nudge could be any aspect of the environment that influences a desired behaviour, and makes that action more likely to occur.

Common examples of nudges include the use of black and yellow markings to indicate hazards and thereby influence cautious movements from individuals ; ropes used in banks to direct the flow of customers; and three-coloured traffic-light systems that are used to indicate priority or importance of information. Shelving, mirrors, lighting and smells are all used to nudge the customer towards the target product.

How can people be influenced or compelled to make the right decisions? The fly image that is baked in the ceramic of urinals at Amsterdam Schiphol airport is the most commonly given example of a sub-conscious nudge providing a cost-effect solution. Although sounding like an apocryphal story, Jos van Bedoff noticed during his military service in the s that an army urinal with a small dot on it was much cleaner than the other urinals.

Nudges can be used in a variety of ways to tackle a variety of failings, including both the deliberate and conscious-safety violations associated with reflective decision-making , as well as the sub-conscious family of unintentional errors automatic decision-making. Nudges can be used in workplaces to:.

Because deliberate safety violations can occur for a wide variety of reasons and for different types of gain and benefit, there may not be a simple one-nudge-fix-all approach that can be used, especially concerning attitudes, prejudices, bigotry and curious motives that can underlie such actions. Another potential negative aspect of safety nudges could be where the nudge stimulus may distract the worker from what they were doing, to the extent that an accident may occur. To do this, it needs product information from the product page.
