I've not personally used this but I have heard great praise from RichCopy which is meant to assist with large copy jobs. I use RichCopy 4. More about it here and it is free. Most of our servers are not R2. We are experimenting with Richcopy now and so far so good.

I have tested but the database guys haven't but I think that has our problem solved. To continue this discussion, please ask a new question.

Also check all the options related to clipboard, port and drives when you initiate the RDP Connection:. Killing the rdpclip. Lots of forums and other articles suggested common solutions such as killing the rdpclip. MS TechNet forum got a solution from people that there must be a group policy applied to the machine remote connection being initiated i.
